Restoring Product Visibility with a Fast LED Driver Replacement
Well-lit refrigerated displays are essential in retail and hospitality environments, helping to showcase products clearly while creating an attractive shopping experience for customers. When the lighting inside a multideck display fridge fails, it can affect product presentation, customer experience, and staff visibility when replenishing stock.
Our engineers recently attended site to investigate a lighting fault on a commercial multideck refrigeration unit and carried out a prompt repair to restore full operation.
The challenge
The customer reported that the internal lighting within their multideck display fridge had stopped working, leaving the cabinet poorly illuminated despite the refrigeration system continuing to operate normally.
Following a full inspection and electrical testing, our engineer traced the fault to a failed LED driver within the cabinet’s lighting circuit. The LED driver is responsible for regulating the power supplied to the lighting system, and when it fails, the LEDs are unable to operate correctly.
Although the refrigeration system remained fully functional, the lack of lighting reduced product visibility and impacted the overall appearance of the display.
Our solution
After diagnosing the fault, the defective LED driver was safely isolated and removed before installing a new compatible replacement.
Once fitted, all electrical connections were inspected, tightened where necessary, and tested to ensure safe and reliable operation. The lighting circuit was then fully commissioned to confirm the repair had been successfully completed.
The work was carried out efficiently, minimising disruption to the customer’s business and allowing the display cabinet to return to full service.

Following the repair, the internal lighting was fully restored, providing bright and even illumination throughout the multideck display.
