The European F-gas Regulation has recently been reviewed with the aim of strengthening the core elements of the Regulation (517/2014).

The F-Gas Regulation creates controls on the use and emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) including HFCs, PFCs and SF6. In the commercial refrigeration sector, this includes professional cabinets and retail display cabinets; the F-Gas Regulation affects the use of HFCs as refrigerants and as blowing agents for the insulation foam.

Why Should you make the switch to an environmentally friendly refrigerant?

There will be an 80% cut in HFC supply by 2030. Therefore the price of HFCs will continue to rise. Refrigerant prices rise again – News Article

Not only will R404A soon be illegal it may also not be the most energy efficient refrigerant to use. Changing to a lower GWP refrigerant with better energy efficiency will be beneficial in terms of energy labelling of products.

If you do not make the change you are likely to fall behind your competitors.

Remote condition-based monitoring

Urbanise IoT, is a remote condition based monitoring business, and as the facilities maintenance business model moves from time and/or mileage based maintenance to intervention, our system is offering predictive failure just before the system folds over, this is also known as exception based reporting.

CUBO2 Smart Condensing Units

SCM have developed a range of CO₂ transcritical condensing units that use inverter technology with the Carel Hecu smart control strategy to give lower energy consumption than traditional HFC solutions. This compact condensing unit comes factory pre-set making it easy to install and maintain. With a GWP of 1, R744 systems provide a long term environmentally friendly solution.
