Trainee Design Engineer

We are currently looking for a Trainee Design Engineer / Project Co-ordinator to support our design and projects team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in building services engineering, with hands-on training and real project involvement from day one.

Role Overview

This is a varied and hands-on role that will see you working alongside senior engineers to:

  • Assist in site surveys and gathering technical information.
  • Support the preparation of HVAC system designs and layout drawings.
  • Help create technical documentation, proposals, and project schedules.
  • Co-ordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to support project delivery.
  • Ensure project documentation and records are kept up to date.
  • Attend installations and commissioning to gain practical understanding of system designs.

What We’re Looking For In A Trainee

  • A strong interest in mechanical/building services engineering.
  • Ideally some technical or construction-related education (e.g. ONC/HNC, BTEC, or similar) – but full training will be provided.
  • Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or similar is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence or working towards it.
  • Right to work in the UK.
