We’re looking for an experienced Design Engineer to lead the surveying, design, and project management of bespoke air conditioning and ventilation system installations. This is a key role in our growing team, ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility, technical excellence, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities – Design Engineer

  • Conduct detailed site surveys to assess client requirements and building infrastructure.
  • Design complete HVAC systems (including air conditioning, ventilation, and heat pump solutions) in line with technical, regulatory, and client specifications.
  • Prepare layout drawings, technical documentation, and costed proposals.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle — from planning and procurement to installation and commissioning.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of each project.
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant health & safety, building, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support to the installation and service teams as needed.

Requirements

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in HVAC design, with a strong understanding of air conditioning systems and controls.
  • Familiarity with key software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards (e.g., CIBSE, F-Gas, Part L).
  • Project management experience including budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Full UK driving licence – Essential.
  • Right to work in the UK.
